Please join us on Friday, April 26 from 1:00-2:00pm in 134 Trowbridge Hall for the April TILE Labs: Accelerator, which will spotlight the work of Pilar Marce (Spanish & Portuguese). Pilar will present her approach for teaching the interdisciplinary course: Business Spanish. Pilar teaches this course in a TILE classroom and utilizes technological resources to create a student-centered learning environment. Click here if you plan on attending.
This course helps to prepare intermediate-level language students for careers in business, international relations, and other professions involving business activities in Spanish-speaking environments in the U.S. and around the world. Through the creation of an entrepreneurial project, students develop the skills that enable them to contextualize business, linguistic, and cultural knowledge within a global framework. Using the collaborative learning approach, emphasis will be placed on group work and interaction with others in Spanish.
Join us as we see the innovative approach of merging an interdisciplinary course with the pedagogy and resources of a TILE classroom. After the presentation we will hold a round table discussion about new ideas and practices to include in your own course. As always, SITA staff will be present to help answer questions and provide individual consultations.
