The primary research area of Dr. Bilki is High Energy Physics. He is working in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Switzerland. His particular expertise is on developing novel concepts for calorimetry in order to measure the energies of particles such as electrons, pions, protons and neutrons in the colliders. He was involved in the design and construction of many detectors and is the spokesperson of the Fermilab T-1041 CMS Forward Calorimetry R&D Experiments.
Dr. Bilki is exploring effective teaching/problem solving techniques in physics in an active learning environment through the TILE classroom.
