I have been a lifelong Wisconsinite (and Packer's fan) until moving to Iowa for my graduate studies. I grew up in Waukesha before going to Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. As an undergrad I studied invasive species ecology and marine ecology.
Eventually, I saw the light and switched to studying paleontology after doing an internship involving fossilized plants from the Carboniferous. Currently, I'm working on my masters of science. I now work with professor Budd to better understand coral reef phylogeny. In particular, I'm interested in using the tissue of corals to better identify and understand their evolutionary histories. But I also find just about everything in paleontology interesting, so feel free to say hello.
