Jean Florman joined the Center for Teaching in 2004 after working for many years as a writer and public radio producer. Her undergraduate degree in anthropology and art history is from Cornell University, and she earned a Master's degree in anthropology and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arizona. She has taught writing courses at the UI, including magazine writing, freelance writing, and nature and science writing, and with faculty members from CLAS, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Rotary International she co-teaches an interdisciplinary, international service-learning course, "International Perspectives: Xicotepec."
