About Phuong Nguyen

Phuong Nguyen is an Assistant Professor at the UI holding joint appointments with the School of Urban and Regional Planning and with the Social Science Policy Program at the Public Policy Center. His research interests are in public finance and public policy in various sectors including education, transportation, and health. Examples of his research include the fiscal effects on education expenditures of property tax limit repeal, budget referendums, and tax increment financing; the impact of education finance reform on student performance; the effects of transportation finance on traffic fatalities; and school quality capitalization.
